My Morning Routine As A Mom, Wife, and Business Owner

My Morning Routine As A Mom, Wife, and Business Owner

I’m ready to kick start the New Year! This new year one of my main goals is to stop using the phrase “I’m overwhelmed.” Being a wife, mother to 5, and business owner, things do get overwhelming, and honestly, it’s ok. But I wanted to create good habits in the morning where my day and mind can run more smoothly.

My morning routine consists of me waking up a little before 7 a.m. I drink a cup of water, and I put some water and coffee to brew, and while it’s brewing, I wake up my little ones for school. I get them dressed, do their hair, make breakfast, and send them out the door for school. I then make my bed and do a quick cleaning in my bedroom. I drink my tea and write for 5-10 minutes, and I look at my to-do list and organize my schedule for the day. I get in the shower and get ready for the day. Getting ready for the day has been important to me because I believe in the phrase, “if you look good, you feel good.'” I do think it makes a big difference in our productivity. It doesn’t always have to be glam clothing. We can get into our cute sweats, comfy outfits, dress it up with soft makeup, and feel more beautiful and productive. At the same time, I’ve been listening to podcasts or audible. It’s a great way to get my reading in for the day. Lastly, I make myself a healthy smoothie or cooked breakfast and take my vitamins.

In my journal, I have kept it simple. I wanted to create a habit where there is no judgment, a place where I can gather my thoughts and ideas, and just be myself. I tend to be a perfectionist, so at times I hold myself back because it isn’t perfect. I start by writing three things that I’m grateful for. I’m working towards having a thankful heart in the things I do have and have gratitude in the things I’m working towards. I then write three things I must get done for the day. If Everything else fails, at least I got those three things done. Sometimes maybe not even those three essential things get done because of well, “life’. Give yourself gratitude and grace, and move forward. Tomorrow is a new day! The key is to keep pushing each day. Don’t compare yourselves to others. Work towards your best. Lastly, I take 2-3 min and write my thoughts and ideas. I’m trying to make it more of a habit to write them down. I’m a daydreamer, so all day, I’m honestly thinking of ideas, but I have never seemed to write them down. This flow will help me accomplish some of them and clear my mind de-clutter my brain. I have felt it be freeing.

I kept it simple, but it has made the most difference in how I feel throughout my day. I feel more organized and ready to tackle my day. What are some great habits you have created to make your day more productive? I would love to hear!

P.S. I’m working on making this a forever habit. I’m human, and I go through stages where I don’t have the energy to think about myself, much less a morning routine. This year I wanted to prioritize taking care of myself more because I have honestly struggled to have gratitude and grace. If MAMMA feels good, everyone else does too. Mammas, we got this. I hope this helps. Love you all!!

Below I have shared some cute planners and notebooks I’ve been using.
